Meet Scott and Gerri Anne Morris!

Scott and Gerri Anne Morris are the owners of the Round Rock and Leander Bahama Buck’s locations in Texas. We sat down with them to ask them about their franchising experience with Bahama Buck’s. Together, their shops have been blessing guests since 2014.

 

WHY DID YOU START A BAHAMA BUCK’S?

“We went to church with Eric (Eric Lee, CFO), and I would tell him, “one of these days, I’m going to do Bahama Buck’s with you.” When we finally made a career change, I went and talked to him about being serious. We started looking at what cities and territories were available for a new Bahama Buck’s location and we chose Leander, TX. So, since it was wide open that’s why we chose to come to this area. Our oldest was already in high school but our middle child was only in the 8th grade so we wanted to make the transition before they started highschool. All three of our kids have worked in Bahama Buck’s one way or another, too.”

 

IN ONE OR TWO SENTENCES, TELL US WHY YOU CHOSE TO OWN A BAHAMA BUCK’S FRANCHISE

“It was the kid and family focus about the marketing, where we could bless a guest and our families and all that kinda stuff but the bigger part of it for us was the opportunity to work with kids. That was something we saw as, you know, most of the crew were going to be kids, and we recognize that we’re a transitional job or a transitional place to be but there is so much leadership, development, and opportunity for those kids that want to come in and do it. We thought that that was a really cool aspect of Bahama Buck’s.”

 

PLEASE PROVIDE AN EXAMPLE OF HOW THE SUPPORT CENTER IS SUPPORTIVE TO YOUR LOCAL FRANCHISE 

“We’ve really been working with the crew on if we have problems that we need to solve, where do we go from here? And they call me, typical. My response to them is, ‘Have you called the Support Center? Have you reached out to them?’ Here in the last couple of weeks I think the crew was having trouble brixing the sodas. They followed the directions and it still wasn’t working correctly. So, they were able to call into the Support Center and they were able to be walked through the process and get the solution. It’s nice that the crew can call them themselves, and they are speaking to somebody who’s more experienced.”

 

WHAT HAS BEEN ONE OF THE MOST REWARDING THINGS ABOUT OWNING A BAHAMA BUCK’S?

“It really is working with the kids for me. Seeing them go off and come back to visit and to just see how much they have grown is just astonishing. On some level, I’d like to think that some of the stuff that we did here was beneficial for them to grow and helped them accomplish and achieve what they have now and who they have become.
